One of my best friends decided my sister and I should learn to sew. She gave us a notions list and sent us on our merry way to Joann Fabrics with the enthusiasm of a born-again Christian.
We went to her little house on the other side of town with our fabric and cut out patterns of our snowmen centerpieces and sewed to our hearts' content.
I was in love.
One night, I couldn't sleep and watched HSN- yes, the Home Shopping Network. They had an embroidery machine... I watched with wonder. How beautiful the products were.
I decided I would buy an embroidery machine.
